The men’s and women’s cross-country teams traveled to Randolph, Vermont on October 29th to compete in the Yankee Small College Conference Championships.
The first run of the meet at 11:00 am were the women’s runners. Among a field of 24 runners Amy Stanek was the lone female runner for the York County Hawks. On a very challenging and hilly course, Amy excelled. placing 5th which earned her a spot on the all-conference team. Amy used a steady pace, averaging under 5 minutes per kilometer, finishing with a time of 28:36.2
The men’s event saw 38 entries. Michael Crosby had a strong showing, finishing 12th with a time 34:12.4. He made his move on the largest hill of the course, passing several runners and maintaining his position in the field. Bowman Rollins had a respectable time of 41:53.9. Both Michael and Bowman represented the Hawks well. Brendan Mather was the third York County runner but was unable to finish due to an injury.
Up next is the Indoor Track and Field season with competition starting in January.
