Tess Noble is a dedicated second-year student at York County Community College (YCCC), pursuing an associate degree in Criminal Justice (CJ). Before attending YCCC, Tess gained a solid foundation in law enforcement through the Sanford Regional Technical Center Law Enforcement program, where she gained hands-on experience in vital skills such as report writing, physical training, fingerprinting, uniform inspection, and radio operation. This experience gave her a glimpse into the world of criminal justice, which she would continue pursuing at YCCC.

Tess chose YCCC for its supportive environment and proximity to home. She’s thriving in her studies and enjoys soaking in all the knowledge she can, with a particular appreciation for her CJ professor, Tim Burton, who has been a great mentor during her time at YCCC. Tess appreciates learning in an environment that encourages listening and growth, and she has found YCCC to be the perfect place to build her skills and knowledge.

As a work-study student at the YCCC Security Desk, Tess has had the chance to apply what she’s learned in a real-world setting. Her responsibilities include conducting fire and first aid checks, completing reports, and gaining experience by working alongside mutiple former law enforcement officials at the security desk. Additionally, Tess has contributed aided with the operations of our Criminal Justice lab, further developing her understanding of the technological tools of the field and gaining practical experience that will serve her well in her future career.

After graduation, Tess is eager to continue expanding her knowledge by shadowing professionals in various areas of law enforcement, including juvenile probation and case management. Her experiences at YCCC, both in the classroom and through work study, have solidified her passion for criminal justice and prepared her for the next step in her career.

With her hands-on experience, academic background, and strong dedication, Tess is well on her way to making an impactful contribution in the world of criminal justice.
