The York County Community College Hawks Baseball team had a strong start in their second year of the program, ending the fall with a record of 9-5.

One of the standout features of YCCC’s fall campaign was its exceptional pitching staff. The team posted the lowest earned run average (ERA) in the conference, at 3.09. James Erickson led the way, throwing 29.2 innings and accumulating a 3-1 record through 7 starts.

On the offensive side, first-year players Jase Bade and Cameron Early emerged as key contributors. Bade led the team with a stellar batting average of .432, showcasing his ability to get on base and generate scoring opportunities. Meanwhile, Early made a significant impact of his own, hitting .352 and establishing himself as a dynamic threat at the plate and on the bases. Early ended the fall with the conference lead in stolen bases (10) and home runs (2) and ranked second in runs batted in with 15.

“I’m very excited about the progress we’ve made both on the field and on campus” said second year Head Coach Zack Robinson. “The fall season is a blitz, we play a lot of games in a short period of time. There were some slips here and there, but heading into the offseason with a record of 9-5 really sets us up well for the grind of a spring season full of conference games.

“The culture of accountability that we display on the field shows itself in the classroom as well. We have a real shot at multiple Academic All-Americans this year, and several others who are in a great position to be named Dean’s List students. I take great pride in watching these student athletes so seamlessly transition their success and leadership on the field into the classroom.”

The Hawks are currently recruiting prospective players for the 2025 class. If you’re interested in learning more about the program, you can contact Coach Robinson at zrobinson@mainecc.edu
