York County Community College (YCCC) is pleased announce Dr. Julie Bodkin as our new Veterinary Technology and Animal Care & Management Faculty. Dr. Bodkin received her DVM from the Atlantic Veterinary College at the University of Prince Edward Island in 2013, and her Bachelor of Science from Ursinus College in 2008 where she double majored in Biology and Spanish.
“YCCC is excited to have Dr. Bodkin lead our Veterinary Technology and Animal Care and Management programs.” said Tracey Cornell, YCCC’s Acting Dean of Academic Affairs. “Dr. Bodkin’s experience in both the field and the classroom ensures that students will have a wonderful educational experience at the college as they prepare for a career.”
Prior to accepting this position, Dr. Bodkin worked at Becker College and also worked at two small animal hospitals around Boston from 2013 to 2020. She started her career as a volunteer/kennel staff member and worked her way up to veterinary technician prior to attending veterinary school. She grew up in Quincy, MA and currently resides there with her husband and their 12-year-old terrier Dixie. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, cooking, and cheering on the Pats, Celtics, Bruins, and Sox!
